Job Title: Accounting/Finance Associate

Location: Palo Alto, CA 94304 - Hybrid Role

Duration: 06 Months -  (Extension/Conversion based on performance) 

Pay Rate: ($27-$28.55) hourly

Summary:

• The Accounting/Finance Associate will play a crucial role in supporting the department's financial operations. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a solid understanding of financial principles. The ideal candidate will be proficient in MS Excel and other financial software.

• Financial Transaction Processing: Review, process, and reconcile a variety of financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with university policies.
• Financial Reporting: Generate and analyze financial reports, including standard reports and ad-hoc requests, using BI and Excel.
• Query Resolution: Respond to inquiries from faculty, staff, and other stakeholders regarding financial transactions, policies, and procedures.
• Expense Management: Process expense reports, P-card transactions, and travel reimbursements, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
• Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to the Finance team, including scheduling meetings, organizing events, and maintaining departmental files.

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Two years of relevant work experience
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Proficiency in MS Excel, including pivot tables and formulas

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (desired)
• Previous experience in accounting or finance within an academic setting
• Knowledge of university policies and procedures
• Experience with expense management systems
