About the Role:

• We are looking for a Lab Automation Technician to join our team.
• The technician will be responsible for performing high throughput DNA extractions in a laboratory that processes over 500K cotton and soybean samples annually.
• This role involves operating semi and fully automated high throughput laboratory platforms to complete DNA extractions from multiple crop species within specified timelines and quality standards.

Responsibilities: -

• Follow pre-established processes to conduct DNA extractions using automation platforms
• Operate high throughput laboratory platforms to complete DNA extractions
• Perform routine tasks such as reagent preparation, consumable stocking, sample reception, and maintenance
• Assist senior analysts in downstream analysis processes using fluorescence-based PCR
• Communicate progress on assigned projects proactively
• Interact positively and proactively with team members
• Use lab information system (LIMS) for registration of completion of work

Education Qualification: -

• Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology or Genetics
• Two or more years of relevant laboratory experience

Required Skills: -

• Experience in a high throughput testing lab
• Knowledge of DNA isolation and fluorescence-based PCR
• Strong critical thinking skills and attention to detail
• Experience with laboratory automation and liquid handling platforms
• Familiarity with software systems such as LIMS
• Proactive communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Computer skills including Windows 7, SharePoint, and MS Office This role provides support for ongoing work for a 12-month period.
• It is not a research position but involves performing repetitive analysis for customers in a commercial laboratory setting.
