Job Title:  Training Specialist III
Duration: 6 months, with a possible extension
Location: Lake County, IL 60064
Pay Range: 35$-40$/hr
 
Job Roles & Responsibilities:
Learning & Development (L&D):
  • Strong background in learning material creation and training design.
  • Expertise in crafting guides, reflection tools, mentor/mentee materials, and conversation guides.
  • PowerPoint and Word skills for creating impactful presentations and documentation.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI):

  • Solid understanding and experience in DEI principles and practices in the workplace.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in DEI-related roles preferred.

Analytical Skills:

  • Ability to analyze data and metrics, aggregate insights, and produce reports to measure program outcomes.

Technical Proficiency:

  • Expertise in MS Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
  • Experience with aggregating and presenting data is a plus.

Material Development:

  • 70-80% of the role involves independently creating L&D materials, including one-page guides, mentor guides, and program-related presentations.
  • Researching supplemental resources and incorporating appropriate citations for learning content.

Collaboration:

  • 20-30% of time spent in meetings gathering requirements and collaborating with the DEI and L&D teams.
  • Opportunity to work with subject matter experts and team leads for input and alignment.

Project Support:

  • Participate in key initiatives and deliverables across various stages of planning, development, and execution.
  • Analyze data from program participation and contribute to storytelling through metrics.

 

 Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred but open to candidates with an Associate’s degree and relevant experience.
  • Experience:
    • 5+ years of experience in L&D or training roles preferred.
    • DEI experience is highly desired but can be secondary to strong L&D skills.

  • Portfolio: Submit examples of PowerPoint presentations or other training materials with the application.
    • Include live links or attach documents directly.
    • Evaluations will focus on content flow, stylistic design, and use of visuals.
  • Training Type:
    • Primarily material and curriculum development; facilitation experience is not critical but considered a plus.
  • Workload: Balanced between heads-down material creation and collaborative team support.
