Position:  DevOps Engineer 

Duration:  12 months    

Location: Chicago, IL 

Payrange: $63-67/hr 

About the Role: 

• The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for building, maintaining, and improving CI/CD pipelines for both new and existing workflows.  

• This role requires strong expertise in containerization tools, automation, and source code management while ensuring maintainability and scalability for on-premises and hybrid cloud environments. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Build, enhance, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for development and deployment workflows. 

• Troubleshoot and resolve pipeline issues, including Git, Angular, or other tool-related errors. 

• Design, develop, and maintain containerized solutions using Docker Desktop, Podman Desktop, and other containerization tools. 

• Ensure compliance with functional, non-functional, and security requirements. 

• Collaborate with international and virtual teams to align development efforts with business goals. 

• Automate manual release and deployment processes to improve efficiency. 

• Assist in transitioning toward multi-cloud environments while maintaining a fully on-premises infrastructure. 

• Mentor junior engineers on best practices in CI/CD, DevOps, and containerization. 

Required Skills: 

• Proficiency with Docker Desktop and Podman Desktop. 

• Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Bitbucket, or GitLab (exposure to Jira and JFrog is a plus). 

• Strong expertise in source code management tools like Git or Bitbucket. 

• Hands-on experience with PowerShell scripting for automation. 

• Understanding of on-premises infrastructure with exposure to multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP). 

• Familiarity with Atlassian suite tools. 

• Knowledge of build tools and processes such as Nuget, MS Build, or similar. 

• Exposure to Splunk for monitoring and logging. 

• Understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and Unix/Linux shell scripting. 

• Experience with error troubleshooting in development pipelines (e.g., Git or Angular issues). 

• Strong grasp of Agile software delivery methodologies.
