Job Title: Engineer – IAM/Active Directory

Location: Onsite in Chicago, IL
Duration: February 3, 2025 – December 31, 2025
Pay Range: $65 - $70 per hour

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Engineer – IAM/Active Directory to join our team for a long-term engagement. This role will involve supporting Identity and Access Management (IAM) initiatives, particularly leveraging Active Directory services. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in systems engineering, authentication protocols, and large-scale global project deployments within a secure environment.

Key Responsibilities

• System Design and Engineering: Contribute to the design, development, and implementation of IAM solutions, with a focus on Active Directory and Entra ID. Integrate and optimize system components for operational environments.
• Authentication and Security: Implement and support PIV/Smartcard authentication solutions, alongside industry-standard SSO protocols such as OAuth, OpenID Connect, FIDO, SCIM, LDAP, and SAML.
• Scripting and Automation: Develop automation scripts using PowerShell, Shell scripting, Python, and JavaScript to enhance IAM functionalities.
• Collaboration and Delivery: Work closely with cross-functional teams to define system requirements, streamline processes, and ensure successful solution deployment.
• Testing and Validation: Execute integration, regression, and performance tests, analyzing test results, and resolving issues as they arise.
• Deployment and Maintenance: Define and build deployment pipelines, document required information for deployment and maintenance, and ensure smooth operational transitions.
• Compliance and Standards: Identify gaps in environment management standards and collaborate with stakeholders to close these gaps, ensuring adherence to security and risk management practices.

Must haves:

• Experience: Minimum of 5+ years in Information Security and Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions using Active Directory and Entra ID.
• Expertise in Active Directory: Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with LDAP, Active Directory Services, and large-scale IAM deployments.
• Authentication Protocols: Proficiency in PIV/Smartcard authentication, SSO protocols (OAuth, OpenID Connect, FIDO, SCIM, SAML).
• Scripting Skills: Expertise in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Shell scripting, Python, and JavaScript.
• Cloud and IAM Integration: Experience deploying IAM solutions in cloud environments like Entra ID, AWS, or GCP.
• Security Knowledge: Familiarity with endpoint security, network security, and risk management practices.
• Leadership: Strong ability to work collaboratively with team members, influence stakeholders, and drive initiatives to completion.
• Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a strong motivation to learn and adapt to emerging technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in leading or contributing to large-scale global IAM projects.
• Familiarity with IT security and risk management frameworks.
• Ability to define and implement robust IAM policies and procedures across complex systems.
