Mainframe Engineer

Contract: Birmingham, Alabama, US

Salary Range: 72.00 - 75.00 | Per Hour

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research when there are questions around integrations or file functionalities.
  • Support the migration process by running migration scripts, conducting tests, and producing extracts for the vendor.
  • Work mainly with COBOL and Easytrieve.
  • Some exposure to DB2 is required, though it will primarily be handled by the vendor.
  • The application is file-based and batch-based, with no APIs.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
  • DB2 (secondary skill).
  • CICS knowledge (not a must-have as screens are part of the vendor application).
Requirements:
  • Years of Experience: 7 to 10 years.
  • Skills Required:
    • Strong proficiency in COBOL and Easytrieve (primary).
    • DB2 experience (preferred but not essential).
    • CICS knowledge (nice-to-have).
