Position Details:
Client: Banking
Job Title: Data Scientist Senior
Duration: 6 Months CTH
Location: McLean, VA 22102
Pay Range: $65 - $70/hr.

About the Role:

The ideal candidate will be passionate about data management and will work closely with stakeholders to influence key business decisions.
This role involves analyzing, designing, and developing data storage and analytic solutions using data lake patterns to support internal customers.

Responsibilities:

Work independently to determine and develop solutions under limited direction
Design and maintain efficient data pipelines and ETL processes for large-scale data integration
Collaborate with data analysts and engineers to define data needs and drive business insights
Develop, test, and deploy code for data extraction, transformation, and loading processes
Mentor junior resources on team technologies and products
Support line of business areas with advanced statistical and quantitative analysis
Interact with customers to gather feedback, troubleshoot issues, and ensure product expectations are met

Education Qualification:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline; advanced studies/degree preferred

Required Skills:

5-7 years of experience in data engineering with proficiency in Python (Nice to have: Scala, Java)
Strong proficiency in spark SQL, SQL, gremlin, GraphQL, and database management (Snowflake cloud-based warehousing)
Experience with data processing frameworks, DataFrames, Apache Spark, Graph DBs
Experience with AWS cloud platform (EMR, EKS, Lambda)
Ability to write statistical and optimization programs for developing models and algorithms
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R
Solid understanding of SDLC practices including development, testing, and release management
Experience with version control systems like Git, BitBucket
Experience with RESTful API design and development
