Title: Electrical Engineer
Location: Houston, TX
Duration: 12 months

Responsibilities:

• Review design/construction drawings (e.g., area classification, wiring diagrams, conduit and cable schedules, P&IDs) for compliance with NEC and API RP500.
• Evaluate and recommend the design, installation, and operation of high, medium, and low-voltage electrical systems in compliance with NEC/NESC.
• Create technical specifications, Engineering Standards, Construction Standards, and O&M Standards.
• Develop equipment specifications for medium and low-voltage electrical equipment (e.g., MCCs, switchgear, transformers, motors, motor starters, generators, UPS).
• Review third-party Arc Flash Assessments for NFPA 70E/IEEE-1584 adherence.
• Utilize electrical power system modeling software (ETAP, EasyPower, SKM).
• Perform root cause analysis on electrical equipment failures and outages.
• Support Operations personnel in maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Assist in commissioning new electrical equipment.
• Ensure quality, compliance with codes/standards, and timely task completion.
• Collaborate with Project Management, Procurement, Engineering,
• Business Development, and Operations.
• Represent the company with customers, suppliers, third-party firms, and industry associations.
• Manage the electrical portion of in-house projects.
• Work with utilities to obtain short circuit data, new services, meter upgrades, and substations.
• Develop cost estimates for greenfield and brownfield projects.

Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably within the oil and gas or pipeline industry.
• Strong knowledge of electrical codes and standards, including B31.3 and B31.8.
• Proficiency in electrical design software and tools.
