Overview:

  • The Digital Cheque Processing Group, consisting of approximately 40 team members, is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager/Scrum Master to join our dynamic team.
  • Our department is dedicated to enhancing agile practices to support the technology behind cheque processing and ensure seamless operations involving returns from various financial institutions, indirect clearers, and corporate clients.

Role Summary:

  • As a Senior Project Manager/Scrum Master, you will play a pivotal role in collaborating with Technology, Operations, and Business partners to ensure successful project delivery. You will manage the planning, organization, and implementation of projects with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • This role requires you to leverage your extensive experience and knowledge to facilitate an agile development process that aligns with business and technical needs, while also ensuring smooth removal of any impediments that may obstruct the team’s goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate Agile initiatives from initiation through to release, ensuring alignment with Agile/Scrum practices.
  • Oversee project kick-off, sprint, release, and deployment planning.
  • Facilitate team ceremonies and encourage collaboration among team members.
  • Promote alignment between business, product, and delivery teams.
  • Track and manage project risks and issues.
  • Analyze agile metrics to optimize team performance.
  • Coach teams on agile best practices.
  • Prepare and deliver regular status reports.
  • Manage conflicts, prioritize tasks, and address leadership requests.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Over 7 years of experience in project delivery with Agile teams.
  • Certified or pursuing certification in PMP®, CSM®.
  • Experience in planning, directing, and coordinating complex projects valued at $1MM or more, ensuring timely delivery within budget and scope.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency in risk management and mitigation strategies.
  • Proven experience in collaborating with and achieving buy-in from stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of project management best practices, Agile, SDLC, and PMLC methodologies.
  • Familiar with Agile practices including Scrum/Kanban, Agile ceremonies, and tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and Mural.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Banking experience, particularly within Technology and Operations teams.
  • Experience with Planview and/or Management Information System (MIS).
  • Knowledge of Scaled Agile practices.

Languages:

  • Proficiency in English (written and verbal).

Interview Process:

  • The interview process includes a Webex and in-person interview.
  • One interview with the hiring manager and another with the Senior Director.

Additional Information:

  • This role does not typically require overtime.
  • There is a possibility for extension depending on the initiatives.
  • No planned vacations or absences currently.
