What is the project/ initiative they will be supporting? 
  • Reference Data Platforms
  • Handling reports reporting to USA
  • Report Data Management
  • Product reports being used by the organization in order for them to do quality checks
  • Data discrepancies to clean up or change (data translation)
  • If reports are not working anymore i.e. issues with the data
 
What are they expected to accomplish on a high level?
  • Development improving the platform for reference data making any changes required
 
Day to day what are the responsibilities?
  • Taking requirements
  • Working with QUARTZ framework
  • New development in Python (Cassandra)
  • Enhancing existing code
  • Doing data translation (HIVE,  Spark) working end to end from Quartz to downstream
 
Must-haves/key skills needed
  • Full Stack Developer
  • Scala & Spark (MUST) / Python / Core Java (in this order)
  • 5-8 years exp
  • REST Based Services
  • Data analysis, gathering requirements
 
Plusses
  • Apache HIVE, SPARK 
  • Functional programming **
  • Graph technologies
  • Familiarity with Semantic Web (RDF) and Sparql
  • Distributed computing is a plus
  • Zookeeper/Storm/Spark/HDFS is a plus
