Job Title:    Data Center Critical Facilities Technician
Duration:    12 Months (Possible Extension or Conversion)
Location:     Plano, TX 75024
Pay Range:  $40-$45/hr.
 
About the Role:
  • Seeking a Data Center Critical Facilities Technician to join our team at our Plano, Texas Headquarters.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience in data center operations and will be responsible for supporting Data Center Managers in ensuring that all facility duties meet data center standards.
  • This role will involve working with data center design, IT floor space management, cabinet power and U-space management, as well as overseeing electrical, environmental, and mechanical equipment such as HVAC, UPS, and Generators.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Configure, update software, add components, and configure alert monitoring for software programs such as APC DCE, ITA, and Vertiv SiteScan
  • Manage license counts for DCE & ITA, program thresholds, set points for alerting and alarming
  • Monitor and manage HVAC, UPS, ATS, and Generators functions and alarming
  • Build, program, and configure new items to be monitored such as UPSs, Power Strips, cameras, etc.
  • Provide operational support for multiple complex IT production platforms
 
Education Qualification:
  • Background in Electrical Engineering
  • Strong exposure to Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) engineering
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems
 
Required Skills:
  • Experience managing APC DCE/ITA or Vertiv Sitescan environments and servers
  • Understanding of HVAC, UPS, ATS, and Generators functions and alarming
  • Data center experience (Environmental) is a plus
  • At least 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Ability to work on-site in Plano, TX and travel as needed
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
