Cloud Engineer
Location: Hybrid – Plano, TX / Kennesaw, GA Pay Range: $58 - $62 per hour Job Type: Contract
We are seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer to join our team and contribute to the design, implementation, and maintenance of cloud-based solutions. This role focuses on supporting cloud enablement strategies, ensuring high performance, security, and scalability within a dynamic technology environment.
Develop and implement cloud solutions in alignment with enterprise cloud strategies.
Design, build, and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and other automation tools.
Collaborate with development, security, and operations teams to deploy and manage cloud services.
Enhance existing cloud infrastructure, ensuring adherence to security and performance best practices.
Perform unit and integration testing to validate software functionality and system stability.
Participate in architecture reviews, requirement analysis, and design discussions.
Utilize CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Maven, Ansible, Puppet, or Salt) to streamline deployments.
Work with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift) for efficient cloud-native application deployment.
Implement security best practices using Azure Policy, Azure Defender, and Azure Sentinel.
Troubleshoot cloud infrastructure and application issues, ensuring high availability and reliability.
Stay updated on cloud industry trends and emerging technologies.
7+ years of IT experience, with 5+ years specifically in Cloud Engineering.
Expertise in Azure, AWS, or (GCP) services and architecture.
Strong proficiency with Terraform, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and cloud automation.
Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Maven, Ansible, Puppet, or Salt).
Proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as Python, Java, or Go.
Experience with Linux/UNIX system administration and cloud security best practices.
Knowledge of identity management frameworks and security protocols.
Experience in designing and managing distributed systems and cloud networking.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in an Agile environment.
Cloud provider certification (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Certified, or GCP Certified) is a plus.
Familiarity with Azure Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) or similar frameworks.
Experience with Terraform Enterprise, Private Module Registry, Terraform Sentinel.
Prior experience in financial services or highly regulated environments.
