Position Purpose

Distributed Messaging Technologies is responsible for providing software support for the suite of MQ and Integration Bus (IIB)/App Connect Enterprise(ACE) products globally across all client's platforms. MQ is a middleware product from that runs on multiple platforms and enables applications to send messages to and receive messages from other applications. ACE/IIB allows business information to flow between disparate applications across multiple hardware and software platforms. MQ and ACE/IIB maintenance and support responsibilities include the evaluation, installation, removal, upgrade, setup, configuration, and troubleshooting of the various versions of MQ and ACE across the enterprise. This position will be supporting these products specifically on the cloud based platforms like Azure, Open Shift Container Platform along with NonStop or Tandem (HP), Linux & AIX platforms.

 Primary Responsibilities

• Lead in the building and maintenance of Messaging technologies on cloud & distributed platforms such as Azure, OpenShift Container Platform, AWS, Linux, AIX, and Tandem (HP).
• Implement testing, reporting, documentation, and other services, as required  
• Configure, Install and Upgrade of MQ/ACE on Azure Kubernetes Service.
• Configure, Install and Upgrade of MQ/ACE on distributed systems.
• Administer the MQ/ACE environments across the servers/pods where the MQ/ACE products exists.
• Automation of certain manual process that are currently handled.
• Involvement in various projects, such as Audit and TSS remediation
• Determining and recommending performance improvements
• Provide L2/L3 support of Messaging technologies, including support to user community  
• Primary liaison between the vendor and client's for the Messaging technology products
• Maintain a very good understanding of supported technology as well as interfacing technology supported by other areas of client's
• Effectively communicate complex technology subject matter and potential usage possibilities to senior management, peers and application development teams in client's
• Ensure that instances of Messaging technology software is at an optimal release level and being involved, as required, to coordinate/perform upgrades
• Participate in OnCall routine when required 

 Education/Experience

• Professional with a minimum of 6 years’ experience in I.T. support role
• Post-secondary diploma, degree or equivalent

• Experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (preferred), OpenShift Container Platform, equivalent cloud products.
• Experience with Linux, AIX, Windows and Tandem.
• Experience with administering/troubleshooting MQ or ACE
• Experience in Scripting preferably Shell.
• Excellent interpersonal and highly developed communication skills (verbal and written)
• Capability to manage multiple priorities across a number of assignments and prioritize effectively
• Ability to resolve any minor conflicts/issues and escalate to others as appropriate

Nice to Have:

• Experience or understanding of MQ, ACE, middleware technologies, and/or design techniques and tools
• Certification on Azure Kubernetes Service
• Ability to script using shell, Python
• Previous platform experience
• Knowledge of domains, IP infrastructure, server operating systems, and domain registration standards, as well as an understanding of IT Standards, Methodologies, and audit requirement
