Job Title:     Payroll Tax Analyst
Duration:     6 Months (Possible Extension or Conversion)
Location:      Nashville, TN
Pay Range:  $30-$35/hr.
 
About the Role:
  • A person on her team is out on leave and had extended it so they need someone to come in and help with all things' payroll tax.
  • They get tax notices through the mail, so being in office and getting their hands on these notices.
  • Right now, she has a payroll clerk, who is getting the mail, logging it, etc. and she wants this person on site for that reason.
  • Working through tax notices and tax setup issues and tax registration, individuals could be set up wrong in system, wants someone who can look at the system and know if its correct or incorrect.
  • Someone who has worked in many states across the country.
Responsibilities:
  • Working through tax notices and tax set up issues, tax registrations (with states), documenting everything, could be individuals are set up incorrectly in the system so they can walk through an employees record.
  • Auditing (critical thinking) of analyzing data – someone who is working in a certain location and if they are set up appropriately to be paid in that location.
  • Get the tax notices through the mail, needs to be in office and get their hands on these notices.
  • Right now, she has a payroll clerk, who is getting the mail, logging it, etc. and she wants this person on site for that reason.
Qualification:
  • 5+ years experience working in Payroll Tax - strong understanding of Gross Pay and Net Pay
  • Experience with refunds, amend returns, filing state taxes
  • Multi state tax experience, large company with many states across the country (20 states)
  • Understanding of Reciprocity - if you work in one state and live in another - locals tax experience
  • MS skill - excel, not afraid of pivot tables and v lookups - data analysis
