Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate within an Agile squad, actively participating in agile ceremonies to enhance ways of working.
  • Perform month-end close activities to understand current processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Work closely with IT and operations teams to analyze the operational setup of commercial lending tools, ensuring process changes enhance accounting practices and vice versa.
  • Maintain consistent communication with Finance and Accounting teams to address relevant items and issues.
  • Identify, analyze, and support data used in Finance and Accounting processes to meet business needs for a new product accounting system.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation for internal stakeholders, providing meaningful value.
  • Learn and understand various aspects of commercial business data and processes.
  • Develop and execute test cases, documenting results for new product accounting systems.
  • Maintain detailed records of loan accounts and perform regular reconciliations during system upgrade testing (AFS Vision).
  • Prioritize skill development and industry knowledge to improve team efficiencies.
  • Proactively identify issues, perform analysis, and prepare solutions for changes in products, business processes, or technology impacting Finance operations.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and SEC reporting requirements, preparing and reviewing necessary documentation with subject matter experts.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred; working knowledge of GAAP is a plus.
  • Ability to quickly learn and become proficient with new technologies.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple assignments independently, demonstrate initiative, and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Excellent critical thinking, leadership, business acumen, and relationship-building skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication, along with strong organizational skills.
  • High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
  • Growth mindset, resilience, and adaptability to a changing environment.
  • Ability to understand end-to-end business processes and drive operational excellence.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to overcome obstacles and leverage available resources and tools.
  • Experience with commercial loan accounting systems is preferred.
