This person will develop and deliver training programs for attorneys and staff, both for initial onboarding and continued development. This includes in-person and online training, as well as creating quick, self-help resources. The goal is to elevate the Firm's overall efficiency and productivity by supporting the learning of core competencies across the firm.  

DayToDay Responsbilities:

  • This person will act as an instructor for the onboarding of new hires.
  • Beyond onboarding, this person will be responsible for 1:1 specific trainings of individuals, setting up enrollments, and updating their existing documentation and learning paths to keep them accurate and accessible.  
  • Assist in the design and development of learning programs, including instructor-led training, e-learning modules, virtual and in-person classrooms, and workshops, with a focus on the Firm’s needs and modern learning methodologies (e.g., just-in-time training). 
  • Build and maintain learning paths in the LMS to support core competencies. 
  • Research and implement new training methods and tools
  • Facilitates training programs on processes, procedures, software policies, and best practices, using in-person classes, virtual delivery methods, videos, and other self-service options. 
  • Manage the LMS to offer self-service options, registration, and training history. 
  • Use feedback to improve training content, delivery, and staff learning outcomes. 

Must Have:

  • 2+ years of technical writing experience and experience with instructional design- user manuals/ quick reference guides, instructions, lesson plans, power points, etc.  
  • 1+ years of professional training experience developing learning paths and curriculum
  • Experience with Big Hand or similar tool - software used for workflow and internal resource management
  • Experience with iManage or similar tool - a document and email management system 
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems 
  • Experience creating interactive videos using tools such as or similar to Camtasia, Captivate, Canva 
  • Experience in working at a multi-office law firm or professional services environment 
  • Soft skills: confident, organized, smart, attentive to detail 
    • This person will be working in a fast-paced legal environment and needs to be confident about their abilities, not hesitant or nervous 

NiceToHave:

  • Knowledge of legal industry-specific software
  • Chrome River (software for credit card reimbursement)
  • InTapp (manage deals/relationships, enhances compliances, streamlines time tracking, etc.)
