Position Details:

Title: Mechanical Engineer

Location: Holtsville, NY 11742

Duration: 2+ Months

Responsibilities

• Participate in ID design reviews and brainstorm ME/ID concepts with the team.
• Conduct 3D stack-up design using Creo.
• Design detailed components such as PCBAs, stackup flex cables, plastic parts, and metal parts.
• Communicate effectively with team members in Asia during off hours.
• Review the quality of plastic trial shot parts and develop a mechanical test plan.
• Ensure timely release of devices to the market.
• Design and analyze products for cosmetic and functional housing, internal components, and development.
• Verify designs using CAE, manual methods, and functional tests.
• Lead internal design meetings and oversee design review activities.
• Complete all phases of design projects with varying complexity.
• Implement recommended improvements based on analysis and documentation.
• Design and oversee complex test experiments, reviewing results and making necessary recommendations.
• Maintain an understanding of multiple technical areas and stay updated on the latest technology and design techniques.
• Develop positive relationships with other engineering disciplines and functions such as sales, manufacturing, and marketing.

Education Qualification

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

Required Skills

• Minimum of 6 years of experience in mechanical engineering.
• Advanced understanding of mechanical discipline and equipment.
• Experience in handheld electronics device design.
• Proficiency in plastic parts design.
• Expertise in Creo 3D modeling.
• Strong understanding of sustainable design practices.
• Ability to solve complex problems using a variety of methods and techniques.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
