Job Title: Data and Governance Analyst
Location: Plano, TX (Hybrid)
Job Type: 12-Month Contract
Pay Range: $50–$55/hr

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced IT Security Specialist with a strong background in risk analysis, vulnerability management, and platform security to support the automation of compliance and security processes within a Hadoop/Cloudera environment. This individual will work closely with internal security teams and external third-party risk assessors to ensure data protection and platform governance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Automate the process of identifying and remediating vulnerabilities and ensuring compliance in a Hadoop ecosystem.
• Collaborate with global security teams to report platform compliance with enterprise security standards.
• Manage change, incident, and governance processes across the platform.
• Coordinate with third-party vendors and internal stakeholders on risk mitigation and security assessments.
• Navigate the National Vulnerability Database (NVD) to identify and assess exposure to known CVEs.
• Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on system or job failures.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience in Risk Analysis, Database Risk Management, or Vulnerability Testing.
• Strong knowledge of Hadoop/Cloudera platforms and associated security tools (e.g., Ranger, Sentry, Atlas, Navigator).
• Proficiency in Python for scripting and automation, with the ability to write clean and scalable code.
• Strong command of Linux OS and experience with HDFS administration and security.
• Ability to read and write complex Shell Scripts.
  Familiarity with container security in both private and public cloud environments.
• Experience working with IT Incident Management tools such as ServiceNow, Remedy, or Nexus.
• Knowledge of SDLC concepts and tools like JIRA, Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
