Position Details:

Position: Content Engineer

Location: Chicago or Addison and Charlotte

Pay Range: $60 - $65/hr.

Duration: 12-18 Months (Possibility of Full-Time Conversion)   

Day to Day:

• Lead & Collaborate: Work closely with a skilled development team in a high-performing environment. Help define goals, share feedback, and support skill growth.
• Detection Engineering in the Cloud: Focus on building and maintaining security detection systems in AWS environments using tools like GuardDuty, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, SecurityHub, and more.
• Design Security Solutions: Collaborate with teams to design scalable SIEM and SOAR systems that can handle complex analytics and large data sources.
• Develop & Deploy: Write and maintain custom applications for detecting advanced threats. Integrate various tools and intelligence feeds for better detection and response.
• Manage Security Incidents: Improve strategies for early threat detection and response. Analyze incidents, prevent recurrences, and enhance incident management processes.
• Optimize Performance: Monitor and upgrade systems for better performance and scalability. Run tests to ensure the platform can handle growing data.
• Stay Compliant: Ensure all work meets industry and internal security standards. Support audits and security assessments.
• Stay Current: Keep up with cybersecurity trends, tools, and best practices—especially related to SIEM, SOAR, and cloud detection.

Must Haves:

• 3+ years of experience in SIEM and Security Operations, including tools like Splunk ES, Anvilogic, Palo Alto Cortex and CrowdStrike
• 3+ years of hands-on Splunk experience
• Splunk certifications are a plus
• 3+ years working with detection and response security tools in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Programming skills in Python and C++
