Duration: 06-12 months [+ Possibilities of extension]

Pay Range: $35-$40/hr

Job Description:
  • Despite the title “EHS Specialist I”, this role is heavily focused on Facilities & Lab Services, not traditional EHS.
  • The selected candidate will support lab operations and help execute facilities-related tasks managed by the Facilities Lab Services Lead.
  • It’s a dynamic, task-oriented position requiring someone flexible, hands-on, and responsive to ad hoc needs.
  • Tasks will vary day-to-day depending on what support is required.
  • Administer and manage the internal equipment/lab supplies reuse system (“Reply system”).
  • Organize equipment/supplies in storage and coordinate internal requests for reuse.
  • Participate in Gemba walks with EHS to identify ergonomic or lab setup issues.
  • Create work order tickets using Footprints system for lab/facility adjustments.
  • Occasionally host and coordinate vendor visits (not responsible for vendor management or technical equipment calibration).
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or Bachelor’s degree.
  • 1–3 years in lab operations, facilities, or biotech/pharma support roles.
  • CMS/CMMS experience (e.g., Maximo, Footprints, or any similar system)
  • Industry experience (biotech/pharma) is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Candidates with strong university-level lab or operations experience will also be considered.
  • EHS-focused candidates are fine as long as they’re open to a facilities-heavy role (this is not a direct EHS track).
Nice-to-Have Skills:
  • Experience in biotech/pharma lab environments.
  • Basic EHS knowledge, especially in lab safety (e.g., Gemba walks, ergonomic assessments).
  • Experience in university research labs, especially in lab manager or coordinator roles.
  • Recent EHS or Facilities graduates with internships in relevant areas.
  • Any ACMS/CMMS tools familiarity beyond Maximo (others acceptable due to system similarities).

Soft Skills:
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Flexibility to manage varying daily responsibilities.
  • Comfortable in a support role with changing priorities.
