The Charlotte office is one of Collabera’s largest satellites, but you wouldn’t know it from the office culture, which employees describe as being like a family — albeit one that prides itself on being insanely competitive. As a result, the company was recently recognized as a “Best Place to Work” by Charlotte Business Journal. “We have a culture based in success and hard work, but we are a close-knit family who support each other as well,” says Jeremy Sheffey, Regional Director of Sales – South East at Collabera Inc. “This makes the environment a lot of fun to work in!” Collabera Charlotte is one of the biggest branches of company, which has over 70 offices in North America, Europe, and Asia. The Charlotte office focuses on the banking, insurance, and financial industries, as well as growing sectors like retail, energy, and healthcare.
Jeremy notes that Collabera is “a global, multicultural, work family which pushes the members toward success through enablement and hard work. The global background of our family members with a common goal and drive, truly sets us apart.” While the company prides itself on being “insanely competitive” and “responsive beyond imagination,” Collabera is passionate about serving its employees, too. Its cultural values include a “work hard, play hard” mentality and a commitment to crafting a supportive environment for its workforce. Employee Appreciation Week, celebrations for promotions and birthdays, golf events, raffles, and a truly spooky Halloween costume contest – Collabera is dedicated to fun as well as achievement. Even during the COVID-19 pandemic, team members connected, sharing selfies of their home offices and fur-person colleagues.
Jeremy notes that it’s especially important to be supportive during difficult times like the ongoing pandemic. For managers struggling with the best ways to help their teams, he recommends forging real connections that go beyond goals and deliverables. “Talk to them often,” he advises. “Talk to them about their lives with genuine interest and not about work. This will keep them engaged in you, but also you in them.” In the end, it all comes down to culture. “My team has created an environment and culture which breeds success,” says Jeremy. “It is that simple. Who wouldn’t want to work in a fun environment, with driven individuals, surrounded by successful peers willing to help?”
